Gail Reichert

Gail's passion is partnering with people in organisations to design and facilitate events that develop the essential core of leadership - emotional intelligence. She has a strong reputation as someone who quickly cuts to the chase, combining her deep knowledge of current leadership research with the ability to hone in on the factors that are unique and relevant for each organisation.

When her strategic thinking capability is melded with her engaging facilitation style the result is deeply meaningful insights for individuals and development that is valued by the organisation.

Gail also has a great sense of humour, a love of life and is fun to work with.

Key capabilities and experience

Gail’s initial career as a chartered accountant means she can quickly come to grips with new organisational environments. She applies the discipline and structure of accountancy with a naturally creative thinking style and a deep knowledge of what makes people tick. Gail uses a systematic approach when working with clients that taps into what really matters to each organisation at that moment in time. She helps craft specifically targeted solutions, at individual, team and organisational levels.

Her key strengths are -

  • Strategic – a future-oriented thinker who can quickly spot relevant patterns and issues, and see alternative ways to proceed.
  • Ideation – fascinated by ideas and can see connections between seemingly disparate phenomena, finding novel and fresh ways to do things.
  • People – intrigued with the unique qualities of each person, having a gift for figuring out how people who are different can work together productively; a knack for bringing out the best in people.
  • Activator – make things happen by turning thoughts into actions. Many are impelled to move into action by her words and examples.
  • Juggler – the ability to manage variables for the most productive configuration, effectively flexible and at her best in dynamic and challenging situations hunting for new ways of least resistance.

Outside of business

Gail lives and works on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast, about 30 kms north of Auckland. In her words, "I love living in this friendly community, where people still say hello to strangers on the beach as they go about their daily walks. We have the heart of small-town New Zealand, but are part of the largest Polynesian city in the world. I get inspired by the view from my office window, across the Hauraki Gulf to Kawau, Little and Great Barrier Islands. The constantly changing sea colours stimulate my creativity and provide reality check to what's really important to me about this world."

When she's not working Gail can be found cycling either locally and at various cycle trails around New Zealand, developing her large and as yet unformed garden, or perhaps indulging her creative energies in painting or drawing. She loves music and the theatre, as well as entertaining friends and family. Gail endeavours to live a sustainable lifestyle by being intentional about use of resources.

Her tribal affiliation is Ngati Porou ki Hauraki. Her pakeha heritage is Scottish, Irish and English.
