I'm Gail Reichert and Leader's Edge is my leadership and organisational development practice, based in Auckland, New Zealand. Leader's Edge specialises in designing and facilitating simply effective personal and organisational leadership development that raises the consciousness and develops emotional intelligence.
I started the business in 1997 and have developed a proven reputation for simply effective leadership and people development that creates real and valued change for people and their organisations.
My biggest kick is when people have 'light bulb moments' - moments of insight that change their lives positively because of the content of the programme combined with the care and camaraderie created in the learning environment.
I have a strong reputation to quickly cut to the chase, building trust easily while combining my deep knowledge of current leadership and neuroscience with the ability to hone in on the factors that are unique and relevant for each situation.
When my strategic thinking capability is melded with my engaging facilitation style the result is deeply meaningful insights for individuals and development that is valued by the organisation.
I have an energetic love of life, build trust and rapport easily, and I bring that attitude to my work.
My initial career as a chartered accountant means I can quickly come to grips with new organisational environments. I apply the discipline and structure of a finance professional with a naturally creative thinking style and a deep knowledge of what makes people tick. My career includes roles in the corporate world, professional services, heavy industry and consulting in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and USA. I transitioned into organisational development more than 20 years ago by leveraging my early training as a secondary teacher. Because of my deep-seated love of learning and lifelong professional development I have the skills to apply a systematic approach that taps into what really matters to your organisation at that moment in time. I can help you craft specifically targeted solutions, at individual, team and organisational levels.
You can find more information on my background and experience on my LinkedIn profile.
I live and work on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast, about 30 kms north of Auckland. I love living in this friendly and connected community, where we still say hello to visitors we pass on our beach walks. We have the heart of small-town New Zealand, but are part of the largest Polynesian city in the world. I get inspired by the view from my office window, across the Hauraki Gulf to Kawau, Little and Great Barrier Islands. The constantly changing sea colours stimulate my creativity and provide reality check to what's really important to me about this world.
For fun and leisure I can be found cycling either locally and at various cycle trails around New Zealand, developing my large garden, or perhaps indulging my creative energies in painting or drawing. I love music, yoga and the theatre, as well as entertaining friends and family. I endeavour to live a sustainable lifestyle by being intentional about use of resources.
My tribal affiliation is Ngati Porou ki Hauraki. My pakeha heritage is Scottish, Irish and English.
